Hi #Name#,
In the time it's taken to write to say "happy new year", Polyglot has already been hard at work sparking, inspiring and extending young minds and imaginations, opening the Sydney Festival with our new work Tangle before returning for a spectacular season at the Arts Centre Melbourne. I hope you had the chance to enjoy the work - I'm sure you'll agree it was the most fun start to 2012 you could possibly imagine.
I am writing to enlist your support for a regional tour of Tangle which will take place throughout 2012 in partnership with children's charity Berry Street and VicHealth. This special Tangle: Motions program aims to increase the health and wellbeing of children from disadvantaged communities in Melbourne, Shepparton and the La Trobe Valley. Working with Playgroup Victoria, Polyglot and Berry Street will work with individuals and communities facing health inequalities. We will work in residence in each community to run a series of arts and literacy based activities - introducing the community to Polyglot's unique brand of interactive play and shared experiences before providing each community with a performance of Tangle. We aim to provide this program completely free to these communities with your support.
Last year was such an extraordinary year for the company: premiering our first Chinese language production La Ji Da Bian Shen in Beijing, touring our 360-degree theatre experience City of Riddles to regional Victoria, celebrating the tenth anniversary of We Built This City, working with the Japanese communities devastated by the tsunami, and winning the Governor of Victoria Export Awards for our international success.
2012 is set to continue this success - alongside Tangle, and tours of Paper Planet, Sticky Maze and We Built This City we will present a tour of Muckheap performed entirely in Auslan sign language for the Deaf which will be delivered for free to Victorian schools thanks to the support of donors and funders. We will also undertake an extended school residency near Frankston and present our brand new work How High The Sky.
Thank you for your belief in Polyglot's ability to change lives. I hope you will consider a donation to Polyglot to help us deliver Tangle: Motions. You can donate using your credit card online at www.polyglot.org.au/donations or click the button in the top right of this email. If you like, you can even set up a recurring donation online, and we will deduct a set amount from your credit card at a regular interval. I hope you will be able to support us, and I look forward to seeing you at a Polyglot event in 2012!
Yours Sincerely,

Simon Abrahams
