polyglot theatre : news update
Hi #Name#,

Polyglot Theatre has a busy month ahead with our Co-CEOs Simon Abrahams and Sue Giles travelling to Europe and Asia for a whole heap of networking, discussion and jet-lag!

The first stop on the itinerary is the Imaginate Festival in Edinburgh, UK (May 9-15). We're going to the festival to make even more valuable connections and to promote Polyglot's work.

After Scotland, we're off to Copenhagen, Denmark and Malmoe, Sweden for the 17th ASSITEJ World Congress and Performing Arts Festival for Young Audiences (May 20-30) The Congress exists to promote vibrant and collaborative international exchange between artists, administrators and educators. Sue will be a guest presenter on a panel of leading Australian arts organisations speaking on theatre for and by young people.

Following from the success of our performance of Headhunter at the Congress in 2008, we will be re-connecting with more of our European colleagues.

Simon is also making a stop in Singapore for LIVE! Singapore 2011, the global performing arts exchange that brings together leading arts professionals from Asia Pacific and around the world to share ideas and promote business.

A special thanks goes out to Patron of our Ambassadors' Circle, Miss Betty Amsden OAM and the Australia Council for the Arts for their support of this important initiative.

How High The Sky gets creative

How High the Sky, Polyglot's latest work in creative development, was presented in a special showing on 15 April at Cromwell Road Theatre. Audience members ranging in age from 0-85 years were mesmerised by this beautiful work specifically designed to engage babies under 12 months and their parents or carers, in a theatrical, helium-filled installation experience. The creative team uncovered a world of image, sensation and sound, guided by our resident baby Henry and the children who participated along the way in workshops and testing sessions. How High the Sky is a new work for a new age group, and is sure to be another hit from Polyglot's award-winning creative team when it premieres in 2012.

City of Riddles - June School Holiday Fun

City of Riddles received some great feedback after its premiere season at the Melbourne Theare Company's Lawler Studio last month.
City of Riddles will begin its regional Victorian tour in the next couple of months. Check out the touring schedule for details.

Sticky Maze - Wrap Up
Sticky Maze was staged in Geelong's busy shopping precinct and was a free interactive play event for kids of all ages. It was heaps of sticky fun! The maze event was part of Central Geelong Marketing's program of school holiday activities. Simple, ordinary and everyday materials were used to transform a regular piece of pavement into a fun and interactive space. Children rolled up their sleeves and used newspaper to cover a kilometre of sticky tape, building an incredible maze that kept them and their parents tied up for hours. "My son was in the maze for over an hour!" said local mother Rebecca. She added "He was not willing to leave as he was having too much fun". > Read about Sticky Maze in the Geelong Advertiser
