polyglot theatre : news update

polyglot website

Polyglot is proud to announce the redesign of our website. We've dusted away the cobwebs and put on a new coat of virtual paint. With better navigation, images and features like Twitter feeds, we hope to keep you connected and up-to-date. Thanks to wonderful work from our partners and friends at Web Prophets. Check out the new website. It's still under construction so do email us if you have any feedback.

We Built This City conquers UK

We built this city

We Built This City is mid-way through a UK tour, bringing Polyglot's unique sense of fun and playfulness to shake up the British and Scottish audiences. We spent a week at the beautiful Macrobert Arts Centre in Stirling, Scotland - a centre right in the middle of the University of Stirling campus which specialises in children's art - where we ran sessions for both kids and adults with equal fervour. Next, the picturesque town Carlisle in Cambria - in England's famed Lake District - formed an ideal setting for a large-scale outdoor version of the cardboard box city right in the town square. A disproportionate number of castles being built showed us how the locals see their own urban architecture and the Uk audiences have embraced the work and all its creative fun. We hope to return again soon. Next stop... Dublin. See our tour dates in the 'Coming Soon' section.

Muckheap at Chapel Off Chapel
Muckheap

Our popular show, Muckheap returns to Melbourne to entertain local audiences at Chapel Off Chapel, Prahran, presented as part of City of Stonnington's Roola Boola Festival. Limited school holiday season - two dates only- Tue 29 and Wed 30 June 2010 at 11am. There's a limited capacity so book quickly - call 03 8290 7000.

Muckheap is a fantastically messy tale of two people cleaning out their shed. But their junk is too interesting, useful or full of memories to throw out. As memories and characters take over, audiences are swept up into a storytelling frenzy. This show invites children to become their own story makers. Muckheap has toured to festivals and schools since 2001 and is enjoyed heartily by adults and kids alike.

Ambassadors' Circle
Ambassadors Circle   Polyglot's Ambassadors' Circle is an annual giving program supporting Polyglot's artistic works, currently with 18 members, headed by its Patron Miss Betty Amsden OAM.

We aim to develop works in collaboration with children from marginalised communities – such as the children of Dinjerra Primary School in Braybrook who we are working with to develop City of Riddles. We offer these programs to the disadvantaged schools for free to achieve maximum accessibility, and we are seeking your help to fund this program.

We appreciate your support in any way. All donations of $2 or more are tax deductible. A perfect end-of-financial-year donation for a good cause.
