We Built This City – coming back on a high

We Built This City concluded its UK tour on a high note - performing at London's National Theatre. Thanks to LIFT and Watch This Space festivals for inviting us over. Executive Producer, Simon Abrahams spoke on a panel at the Institute for Contemporary Art in London. Great discussions and good times for all. Our touring team had an amazing time and are currently adjusting back to Melbourne’s time zone.

Muckheap at Fed Square this week

Join Keira and Justine in Muckheap at Federation Square this week until Friday 9 July. Presented as part of Puppets @ Fed Square, a FREE school holiday program. Various times - see ’Coming Soon’ section on the right.

Muckheap is a fantastically messy tale of two people cleaning out their shed. But their junk is too interesting, useful or full of memories to throw out. As memories and characters take over, audiences are swept up into a storytelling frenzy. This show invites children to become their own story makers. Muckheap has toured to festivals and schools since 2001 and is enjoyed heartily by adults and kids alike.

Theatre is Child’s Play workshops

This hands on workshop for children aged 0 to 3 and their parents is SOLD OUT but you can read about Director Sue Giles' creative development process and impetus for these fascinating workshops in this Web Child article.

Check Out! tours overseas and locally

Check Out! tours again! We are back from our Korean adventures and heading to Hong Kong in August. We love getting to know overseas children! But home is where the heart is - we’re also doing a season at Monash University (Frankston & Clayton) from 28 Sep to 1 Oct. Bookings: 9905 1111. More details in the next column.

Set in a supermarket, Check Out! follows the remarkable adventures of tantrum-throwing Baby who is determined to get what she wants. Filled with puppetry at its most inventive and cheeky, Baby soon meets shelf products which come to life, and Speedy who helps her discover that you need more than just stuff to see you through.

Ambassadors’ Circle

Polyglot’s Ambassadors’ Circle is an annual giving program supporting Polyglot’s artistic works, currently with 18 members, headed by its Patron Miss Betty Amsden OAM.

We aim to develop works in collaboration with children from marginalised communities – such as the children of Dinjerra Primary School in Braybrook who we are working with to develop City of Riddles. We offer these programs to the disadvantaged schools for free to achieve maximum accessibility, and we are seeking your help to fund this program.

We appreciate your support in any way. All donations of $2 or more are tax deductible.
